Punjab Board Position Holders 2026: All 9 Boards Names & Marks
Punjab boards released their matric position holder names on 5 August 2026, one day before the public result. The full 10th class result 2026 is being announced today, 6 August 2026, at 10:00 AM, across all nine Punjab boards.
The confirmed board-wise names, marks and schools are listed below. Each entry reflects the announcement made by the concerned Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Award ceremonies for the top students are being held on result day in several divisions.
What Is the Position Holder Announcement?
The position holder announcement is the official release of top-performing students in the matric annual examination. These students secure the highest marks in their board and are listed with their position, name, marks, and institution.
This is not the same as the public result. The public result is for all students. The position holder list is only for top-ranked candidates, and it is released separately, usually through a board press release or a ceremony.
When Are Matric Position Holders Announced?
Punjab boards announce position holders before the full result goes public. For 2026, the boards released their lists on 5 August, roughly a day ahead of the main result.
Lahore Board announced through the Higher Education Secretary, Sargodha declared its list through a ceremony at the Chairman’s office, and Faisalabad and Rawalpindi released their names in the evening. The public result is checked by roll number, name, SMS, and gazette.

How Boards Verify Position Holders
A position holder is not selected from one paper or one subject. Boards calculate the final result after checking theory papers, practical marks where applicable, total marks, and result records. The final merit list is prepared after verification, because one wrong entry can affect the official ranking.
This year the margins were extremely tight. In Faisalabad only two marks separated first and third, in DG Khan the gap was also two marks, and four boards recorded joint positions where students finished on identical totals. That is exactly why boards complete verification before releasing names, and why students should rely on the board gazette rather than early social media lists.
What Students Should Check Before Result Day
Keep your roll number slip with you. Position holder news creates excitement, but most students need their personal result today, and your roll number is still the fastest way to check your marks.
Also confirm your correct board. Punjab matric students fall under Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, or DG Khan, depending on school, district, or private admission record. If your school is in Kasur, Nankana Sahib or Rajanpur Danish School, you are still under Lahore Board. Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur students fall under DG Khan Board, and Okara and Pakpattan students under Sahiwal Board.
Helpful Result-Day Pages
Before checking your result, save these important pages:
- To understand the passing rule for SSC Part-II, read 33% or 40% for matric result 2026.
- For offline checking, save the Punjab board SMS codes.
Final Note
The 2026 position holder names on this page reflect the announcements made by each Punjab board on 5 August 2026. Spellings of a few names have appeared differently across early press reports, so the board gazette should be treated as the final record in any case of doubt.
Congratulations to every position holder and to all students receiving their result today. If your own result is not what you hoped for, remember that supplementary and improvement options are available, and this page links to guides for both.
