Why SMS Matters More Here Than Anywhere Else

BISE DG Khan covers some of the most geographically dispersed territory of any Punjab board — four districts running along the Indus, from Layyah in the north down to Rajanpur at the Sindh and Balochistan borders, with the Koh-e-Suleman range to the west.

Mobile data coverage across Taunsa Sharif, Rojhan, Jampur, Kot Addu and the riverine belt is inconsistent. Web portals need a stable connection; SMS does not.

Send your roll number as a plain message to 800295 and you receive your total marks and result status by reply. It costs a few rupees, works on any handset, and does not depend on the board’s web server staying up during peak load. For candidates outside the main towns, this is the primary method rather than the fallback.

Board Jurisdiction

Established in January 1989, BISE DG Khan operates from Board Road, Dera Ghazi Khan. Official website: bisedgkhan.edu.pk.

  • Dera Ghazi Khan — DG Khan, Taunsa Sharif
  • Layyah — Layyah, Karor Lal Esan, Chaubara
  • Muzaffargarh — Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Alipur, Jatoi
  • Rajanpur — Rajanpur, Jampur, Rojhan

Muzaffargarh and Layyah candidates often search for a board under their own district name. Both fall under DG Khan board, and the board name is printed on your roll number slip.

A note worth making: DG Khan (Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab) and DI Khan (Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) are different boards in different provinces. The names look similar and students occasionally land on the wrong portal.

Checking Your Result

Roll number. Open the result section on bisedgkhan.edu.pk, select SSC Part 1 Annual 2026, type your roll number with no spaces, and submit. Full subject-wise marks appear on screen. Screenshot it.

SMS 800295. Roll number only, plain message. Total marks and status by reply.

Gazette. Download the PDF from the board site and search it with Ctrl+F using your roll number. Schools across the four districts use the gazette for bulk verification, and it remains searchable offline once downloaded — useful where connectivity is intermittent.

Reading the Result Properly

Passing requires 33% in each individual subject. SSC Part 1 carries 505 marks.

The number that matters more is 1,100 — the combined matric total from Part 1 and Part 2. Your 9th class marks are added to next year’s, not replaced by them. Whatever you lose now is permanently subtracted from your final matric percentage.

This is worth taking seriously in this region specifically. Merit competition for Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering seats at colleges in DG Khan, Multan and beyond is judged on the combined 1,100-mark total, and a weak Part 1 narrows those options before 10th class starts. Our FSc admissions guide sets out what each stream requires.

Your subject-wise breakdown also tells you something actionable. Struggling with Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics in Part 1 is a signal about the science group in Part 2, where those subjects get harder and add practical components.

If the Result Is Not What You Expected

Failed one or more subjects. The year is not lost. You reappear in the failed paper alone while every other subject carries forward. See what to do after failing one subject and the supply exam process, then collect the form from your school before the deadline closes.

Marks look miscounted. Rechecking verifies the totalling and confirms no question or page went unmarked. Apply within the board’s window; late forms are not accepted.

Science marks look incomplete. Practical and theory scores reach the board on separate schedules — see how practical marks are counted.

Name or father’s name is wrong. This needs a written correction application with your original CNIC or B-Form and school record, not a phone call. Our guide on correcting a result card name covers the process.
