Why Faisalabad Students Send SMS to the Wrong Number
Eight of the nine Punjab boards use SMS codes inside the 80029x range — 800291, 800292, 800293, 800295, 800296, 800298, 800299, 800290.
Faisalabad does not. Its code is 800240.
Students who assume the codes run in sequence, or who copy a friend’s number from another district, send their roll number to a board that has no record of them. The reply either never arrives or returns nothing useful, and the student spends the next twenty minutes refreshing a website instead.
Confirm the code before sending. For Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot candidates, it is 800240 and nothing else.

Chiniot became a separate district in 2009 but remained under Faisalabad board, which is why searching for a Chiniot board returns nothing.
Three Checking Routes
Roll number. Open the board’s result section, choose SSC Part 1 Annual 2026, and enter your roll number exactly as printed — no spaces. Subject-wise marks, total and grade appear together.
SMS to 800240. Plain message, roll number only, no prefix. Returns total marks and pass status. This is the reliable route during peak load because the SMS service does not depend on the web portal staying up.
Gazette PDF. Download from the board site, open in any PDF reader, press Ctrl+F, and search your roll number. Useful when you have lost your roll number slip, and standard practice for schools verifying an entire batch.
Marks, Grades and the Matric Total
Passing requires 33% in each individual subject. SSC Part 1 carries 505 marks.
Here is the part that changes how you should read your result. Punjab boards add SSC Part 1 and SSC Part 2 together into a 1,100-mark matric total. Your Part 1 score is not a rehearsal — it is close to half your final matric percentage, and it is already locked.
A candidate scoring 400 out of 505 has surrendered 105 marks. Even a flawless Part 2 caps their matric total near 90%. A candidate at 460 out of 505 has a ceiling above 95%. Both can work equally hard next year; they cannot finish equal.
When Something Looks Wrong
Science subject total seems short. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science combine theory with practical marks, and the two reach the board on different schedules. Check how practical marks are counted before assuming an error.
Marks lower than expected. Rechecking verifies totalling and confirms nothing was left unmarked. It is not a re-evaluation of your answers. Apply within the board’s window; late applications are rejected.
Result shows withheld or R.L. R.L. means result later. Withheld usually points to a registration, fee or record issue. Neither is a fail, and neither is fixed by a rechecking form — take it to your school office and the board’s examination branch.
