MEPCO Bill Online Check 2026

Check your available MEPCO electricity bill using the 14-digit Reference Number or 10-digit Consumer ID printed on your bill. Open the billing record, review the amount and due date, then download or print a duplicate copy when needed.

Check Your Current MEPCO Bill

Have your Reference Number or Consumer ID ready, then open: the MEPCO Bill site

How to Check Your MEPCO Bill Online

To check a MEPCO bill, use the Reference Number or Consumer ID from an earlier electricity bill. Open the bill checker, enter the complete identifier, and submit it to view the available billing record. You can then review, save or print the bill.

  1. Find your Reference Number or Consumer ID.
  2. Open the MEPCO Bill site.
  3. Enter the number and open your bill.

Reference Number and Consumer ID — Which One Should You Use?

Both identify your electricity connection, but they are different numbers.

14-Digit Reference Number

The Reference Number is printed on the MEPCO bill. Enter all 14 digits shown in that field. Do not replace it with the meter number.

10-Digit Consumer ID

The Consumer ID is another account identifier printed on the bill. If the billing interface gives you a Consumer ID option, enter the complete 10-digit number.

Reference Number ≠ Consumer ID ≠ Meter Number ≠ CNIC

Where Can I Find the Reference Number on a MEPCO Bill?

Check an earlier paper bill or saved PDF and locate the field marked REFERENCE NO. Use the complete number shown there. The bill also contains other numbers, including the Consumer ID and meter details, so confirm the label before entering anything.

Can You Check a MEPCO Bill by CNIC, Name or Meter Number?

For normal online bill retrieval, use the identifier accepted by the current MEPCO/PITC billing interface—typically the Reference Number or Consumer ID. A CNIC, customer name or meter number should not be treated as a substitute unless the official billing interface specifically provides that search option.

A CNIC may appear in account records or on some bills, but that does not by itself make it a public bill-search identifier.

How to Download or Print a MEPCO Duplicate Bill

Open your billing record first. From the bill page, use the available browser or bill-page print option to:

  • save the bill as a PDF;
  • print a paper copy;
  • keep a digital copy for your records.

A duplicate bill is another copy of the available electricity bill; it does not create a new billing record.

MEPCO Bill Not Showing? Check These First

If the bill does not open, first confirm that every digit of the Reference Number or Consumer ID is correct. Make sure you selected the matching identifier type.

Also check whether:

  • the current billing record is available yet;
  • you are using an old or incorrect account number;
  • the billing service is temporarily unavailable;
  • your browser blocked the bill page or new window.

If one identifier fails and you have the other printed on the bill, try the other supported option.

Lost Your MEPCO Reference Number?

Check an older paper bill, downloaded PDF, previous payment receipt or banking/mobile-wallet bill history. If your Consumer ID is still available, use it where the billing interface supports Consumer ID search.

If you have neither identifier, use an official MEPCO customer-service channel to recover or verify the account information rather than guessing a number.

MEPCO Bill History and Previous Bills

Previous billing information can help you compare monthly units, billed amounts and payment records and identify changes in electricity use.

For a fuller month-by-month explanation, see MEPCO Bill History.

Estimate Your Electricity Bill

A bill estimate can depend on your units consumed, tariff category, applicable rates, fixed charges, taxes and current adjustments.

Use the MEPCO Bill Calculator for a separate estimate rather than treating a rough unit calculation as the final payable bill.

Understand MEPCO Bill Charges and Adjustments

Your bill may contain more than the basic electricity charge. Depending on the applicable tariff and current notifications, bill components can include:

  • Energy Charges — electricity cost based on billed consumption and tariff.
  • Fixed Charges — charges applied under the relevant tariff where applicable.
  • GST — tax shown as part of government charges where applicable.
  • Electricity Duty — duty shown separately on applicable bills.
  • FCA/FPA — fuel-related adjustment applied according to the relevant billing notification.
  • Quarterly Tariff Adjustment — tariff adjustment that may appear for the applicable period.
  • Late-payment amount or surcharge — the bill may show a different payable amount after the stated due date.

Because rates and adjustments can change, current figures should always be checked against the latest official tariff or billing notification.

Protected and Non-Protected Electricity Consumers

Residential tariff treatment can differ according to the consumer category and qualifying consumption history. Protected, non-protected and lifeline classifications should be interpreted using the current NEPRA tariff rules rather than an old rate table or a single month’s consumption alone.

For the current criteria and applicable rates, see the dedicated Protected vs Non-Protected Consumer guide.

How to Pay Your MEPCO Bill

After checking the bill, you can use an available authorized payment channel such as mobile banking, participating banking services, supported mobile wallets, ATMs or approved physical payment points.

Before confirming a digital payment, verify the biller, Reference Number and payable amount shown in the payment screen against your bill. Keep the transaction receipt or confirmation for your records.

For payment methods and status guidance, see MEPCO Bill Payment.

How to Check Whether Your MEPCO Bill Is Paid

Opening the current MEPCO bill shows the billing record and amount due, but it should not be treated as instant proof that a recent payment has been posted.

For a payment you have just made, first check the banking app, mobile wallet or payment receipt for a successful transaction. Keep the transaction ID or receipt until the payment is reflected in your billing record.

MEPCO bills provide previous consumption and payment history, which can help confirm older payments. This history is useful for record checking, but it is not a promise of real-time payment status.

Wrong Reading, Wrong Amount or Bill Correction

If the units, meter reading or payable amount look wrong, compare the bill with your meter and previous billing record before filing a complaint.

Check for:

  • an incorrect current meter reading;
  • an unusual increase in units;
  • arrears you do not recognize;
  • a repeated or disputed charge;
  • a defective or replaced meter.

Keep a clear photo of the meter, the bill, your Reference Number, and the billing month. MEPCO customer service facilities provide bill-correction support, and billing complaints can also be registered through the relevant complaint system.

After submitting a complaint, keep the complaint ticket number so you can track the case.

For the full process, see MEPCO Bill Correction / Complaint.

MEPCO Complaint and Support

Start a billing or electricity-service complaint through MEPCO customer service or the PITC Customer Complaint Management System (CCMS). MEPCO currently publishes 118 and 0800-63726 as complaint contact options, while CCMS allows complaints to be registered and tracked through a ticket number.

If the issue remains unresolved after the distribution-company complaint process, NEPRA provides an online complaint system for electricity consumers. A complaint to the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) may also be relevant in matters that fall within its jurisdiction.

Keep copies of the bill, complaint number, meter evidence and any written response.

About MEPCO

MEPCO stands for Multan Electric Power Company. It is an electricity distribution company serving consumers across 13 administrative districts of southern Punjab. MEPCO operates under a distribution licence granted by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

MEPCO, PITC and NEPRA perform different roles. MEPCO manages electricity distribution and consumer services in its service territory. PITC (Power Information Technology Company) provides technology systems used for services such as electricity billing and complaint management. NEPRA regulates Pakistan’s power sector and oversees matters including distribution licensing, consumer-service rules and tariff regulation.

Keeping these roles separate helps consumers know where to check a bill, report a service problem or raise a regulatory complaint.

MEPCO Service Area

MEPCO states that its distribution licence covers 13 administrative districts of southern Punjab:

Multan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.

A city name does not change the basic bill-checking method. Consumers should use the Reference Number or Consumer ID associated with their own MEPCO connection rather than looking for a separate city-based bill checker.

Is This the Official MEPCO Website?

No. This is an independent MEPCO bill information and checking resource. It is not the official website of MEPCO, PITC or NEPRA.

The official MEPCO website should be used when you need formal company services, official notices, customer-service information, applications or other account-related assistance.

Official MEPCO website: Visit MEPCO

Bill retrieval may use the relevant PITC billing service, but providing access to that service does not make this website an official MEPCO or PITC website.

Privacy When Checking Your Bill

To retrieve a bill, enter only the Reference Number or Consumer ID required by the bill checker. You should not need to provide a banking password, card PIN or payment OTP simply to view an electricity bill.

Reference Number and Consumer ID: Only enter the billing identifier required to check your MEPCO bill. Never enter a banking password, card PIN, or OTP to view a bill.

If the website uses analytics, advertising cookies or other third-party technologies, describe those separately in the Privacy Policy. Do not claim that billing identifiers are “never stored” or that the checker is “100% secure” unless your actual technical setup supports those statements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I check my MEPCO bill using Consumer ID?

Yes, where the current billing interface provides the Consumer ID option. Enter the complete 10-digit Consumer ID printed on your MEPCO bill instead of placing it in the Reference Number field.

How many digits are in a MEPCO Reference Number?

The MEPCO bill Reference Number used for online bill retrieval contains 14 digits. Enter the complete number shown under the Reference Number field on your bill.

Where can I find my Consumer ID?

Look at an existing paper bill or saved bill copy for the field labelled Consumer ID. Do not confuse it with the 14-digit Reference Number or the meter number.

Can I check a MEPCO bill using CNIC?

The normal bill-checking route should use the Reference Number or Consumer ID accepted by the billing interface. A CNIC should not be presented as a direct bill-search method unless the official billing system specifically provides that option.

Can I search a MEPCO bill by name?

Do not rely on a customer name as a replacement for the Reference Number or Consumer ID in the normal online bill checker. Use the identifier printed on the electricity bill.

Why is my current MEPCO bill not showing?

First check every digit of the Reference Number or Consumer ID and make sure you selected the correct identifier type. The current billing record may also be unavailable temporarily or may not yet have been issued for the billing cycle.

How can I download my MEPCO bill as a PDF?

Open the available bill and use the bill page or browser Print option. On supported devices, choose Save as PDF instead of a physical printer to keep a digital copy.

Can I print a duplicate MEPCO bill?

Yes. Once the available bill opens, use the print option to produce a paper copy. A duplicate bill is a copy of the billing record; it does not create a second charge.

How can I check an old MEPCO bill?

Use your available billing history to compare earlier months, units, billed amounts and payment records. MEPCO states that electricity bills include 12 months of consumption and payment history.

For more detail, see MEPCO Bill History.

How can I correct a wrong MEPCO bill?

Collect the bill, Reference Number and evidence of the issue—such as a clear meter photo for a reading dispute—then register the matter through MEPCO customer service or the relevant complaint system. Keep the complaint ticket number until the case is resolved.

How do I know whether my MEPCO bill has been paid?

For a recent payment, check the successful transaction record from your bank, wallet or payment channel first. Previous payment information may later appear in the billing history, but the bill checker should not be described as providing guaranteed real-time payment confirmation.
